How was MayanKin’s Store created?
Ever since I was a child, I have always been passionate about handcrafts. I admired artisans and I did handcrafts myself. I learned many years later that my Tzolkin sign or birth Kin was Yellow Star, archetype of Art and Creativity!
I was lucky to be born in a wonderful country where handmade gifts have a special meaning. Most of the main parks in Buenos Aires, Argentina, turn into handcrafts markets in the weekends and I used to spend hours walking around, talking to the artisans, appreciating their work and learning about their lifestyle and creations.
Artisans not only have amazing manual skills, but they mainly create art from their hearts, while allowing inspiration and imagination to guide them along the creative process. Each handmade product is unique and their imperfections are what make them perfect!
