Yellow Warrior Wavespell of Planning

by Mariela Maya

What a wonderful Summer Solstice ceremony we had bringing together the energies of the Condor and the Eagle! Thank you very much to Tim Janak Sr. and Jr. for guiding us with the drums and chanting, to Sharon Kapp for her beautiful center in Cypress and to all of you that joined us in person and in spirit. Much love and gratitude to Mother Nature as we celebrated the beginning of Summer with a Despacho Andean ritual in the middle of a storm accompanied by birds and rainbows!

The Tzolkin, Sacred Mayan Calendar, is a cycle of 260 days composed of 20 glyphs by 13 numbers. Each day combines a glyph and a number giving to it a specific meaning as an invitation to connect with certain aspects of our being. Every 13 days, there is a shift of energy and the glyph that falls on the first day sets the purpose for the following almost two weeks. In the modern application of the Tzolkin, the 13-day period is called a Wavespell, and there are 20 Wavespells in a cycle. If all this is new to you, the best approach is by playing with it instead of trying to understand technical concepts. You will see how magically and synchronically everything unfolds!

The Yellow Warrior Wavespell is the 16th Wavespell out of twenty in the current cycle based on the modern count. From July 3 to 15, 2016, we are invited to become a Warrior of Light! Let’s see what each of the Wavespell’s day represents in this current cycle by combining the Tzolkin’s 20 glyphs with one of the 13 numbers.

Sunday, July 3, Yellow Magnetic Warrior
Purpose: the first day of any Wavespell sets the purpose for the specific period of 13 days. During the Wavespell of the Yellow Warrior, the purpose is to set clear goals and be fearless to move forward. What do you want to accomplish in this Season?

Monday, July 4, Red Lunar Earth
Challenge: the second day of any Wavespell is the one that shows us the extremes. When we feel disconnected from our own essence, it is difficult to be present in the now and plan for the future. Do you take time to recharge in Nature?

Happy 4th of July! As Independence Day is celebrated in the United States, the New Moon in Red Lunar Earth is a symbolic invitation for all of us to connect with what we want to become independent from as we take care of Pachamama, Mother Earth and our surroundings.

Tuesday, July 5, White Electric Mirror
Bonding: the third day of any Wavespell is the one that “connects the dots”. As we “clean our foggy mirrors” and cut with illusions that distort reality, it is easier to use our discernment. Are your inner and outer worlds reflecting in harmony?

Wednesday, July 6, Blue Self-Exiting Storm
Shaping: the fourth day of any Wavespell is the one that gives shape and form. Planning also requires facing one’s fears with courage in order to transform harmful thoughts and behaviors. Are you flexible to shift the course when needed?

Thursday, July 7, Yellow Overtone Sun
Empowering: the fifth day of any Wavespell is the one that empowers. As we move forward towards our goals with clarity and perseverance, we feel empowered to shine in own Light. When asking questions, do you also listen to the answers within?

Friday, July 8, Red Rhythmic Dragon
Balancing: the sixth day of any Wavespell is the one that brings balance. Taking care of oneself on all levels helps to recover balance as we embrace new beginnings. Do you give yourself permission to receiving or are you constantly giving?

Saturday, July 9, White Resonant Wind
Aligning: the seventh day of any Wavespell is the one that helps us to become centered. Setting goals gives us freedom when we connect with what we want from our authentic self. Do you allow yourself to be guided by divine inspiration?

Sunday, July 10, Blue Galactic Night
Integrating: the eighth day of any Wavespell is the one for integration. The Warrior of Light knows about the importance of stillness, introspection, meditation and paying attention to one’s dreams. Are you integrating all of your experiences?

Monday, July 11, Yellow Solar Seed
Pulsing: the ninth day of any Wavespell is the one that gives the last push prior to manifestation. The only way we can move forward fearlessly is by allowing ourselves to be vulnerable. Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone?

Tuesday, July 12, Red Planetary Serpent
Manifesting: the tenth day of any Wavespell is the one that manifests. While we were taught to plan with our minds based on what “makes sense”, in reality we enjoy the process and the outcome when we do things with passion based on our instincts. Do you listen to your gut-feelings?

Wednesday, July 13, White Spectral World Bridger
Releasing: the eleventh day of any Wavespell is the one that liberates. When we get caught in self-doubt and the “what if’s”, we cannot bridge our spiritual and material worlds. What is blocking you from moving forward?

Thursday, July 14, Blue Crystal Hand
Sharing: the twelfth day of any Wavespell is the one for cooperation. As we evolve in our journey, we share our accomplishments with others and extend a helping hand for accompanying them in achieving their goals. Who can you help today?

Friday, July 15, Yellow Cosmic Star
Transcending: the thirteenth day of any Wavespell is the one that gives closure. And finally, as we become fearless to walk one’s unique path with determination and beauty, we awaken our inner artist and create out of our lives a piece of Art!

Please join Tim Janak and I for the Full Moon Drum Circle on July 19. As the Yellow Warrior reminds us about planning, we need to have a headcount in advance due to limited space. Please RSVP by email mariela [at] mayankin [dot] com and we will send you the details.

Happy Planning!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
