Mother Raccoon teaches Baby how to climb a Tree
A Great Lesson on Perseverance

Yellow Warrior teaches us to be fearless as we walk our path with determination. This very short video by Jeffrey Reid shows a mama raccoon teaching her baby how to climb a tree. What a beautiful message she gives us on perseverance, encouragement and support!

You can click here or on the image below to see it.

Sometimes we experience situations in life that seem difficult and we fear we’ll never be able to accomplish our goals. We feel hesitant and unsure on how to proceed.

We try, and we ‘fall’. We try it once more, and we fall again… Failure leads to frustration, disappointment and self-doubt. We get caught on a vicious cycle and go back to our old habits. We get tempted to walk away from our objective thinking that we are not ready for it and we stop trying. But, as soon as open our hearts and we change the approach on how we’ve been handling the situation, new possibilities arise and we move forward. We may also decide to ask for help and guidance for others to accompany us in the process to achieving our goal. Finally, in one of the attempts… we make it happen and we feel strong and happy again!

And the journey starts, step-by-step. Baby raccoon is ready to be fearless and climb the tree by herself!

Falling and trying from a different place…

Falling again… it’s part of the experience!

With a little more help…

She can do it!

One more push…

Almost there…

Done! Baby raccoon looks down as mama leaves…

Mission accomplished! Mama raccoon is happy as the goal was achieved while baby raccoon is looking up and climbing the tree by herself!

I dedicate this message to our “little friends” who come every night to visit us and eat cat food. I took the following photo with my phone at night; hope to catch them one of these days with my camera and better light so I can share it in a future post.

If you have a couple of minutes, watch this video on YouTube to see how they wash their hands while eating. Raccoons also put cat food in the water as they like it soft… they are very sweet and funny : -)

Back to today’s main message and as mama raccoon and her baby remind us, with persistence, willpower and dedication, we always end up achieving what we aim for!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
