Yellow Human Wavespell of Free Will

Marriage Equality
Freedom to Love for All

On June 26 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court legalized marriage equality nationwide. United States joined 20 countries that permit same-sex marriage, which started with the Netherlands in 2001. The list is available in Freedom to Marry.

This ruling was taken both as a victory and a defeat. While so many, within and out of the LGBT community are celebrating this important achievement towards true freedom for all, it has also intensified the existing controversy with those that are opposed to it mainly due to religious beliefs.

I would like to share with you some of the remarks made by President Barack Obama on that day. I will use his words while giving to it a global approach. You can click here or on the image below to hear everything he said.

We are all created equal. The project of each generation is to bridge the meaning of those founding words with the realities of changing times. Everybody should be treated equally, regardless of who they are or who they love.

Many continue to hold a wide range of views on this issue. Opposition in some cases has been based on sincere and deeply held beliefs.

All of us who welcome today’s news should be mindful of that fact; recognize different viewpoints; revere our deep commitment to religious freedom.

Real change is possible. Shifts in hearts and minds are possible. And those who have come so far on their journey to equality have a responsibility to reach back and help others join them. Because for all our differences, we are one people, stronger together than we could ever be alone.

We are big and vast and diverse; people with different backgrounds and beliefs, different experiences and stories. No matter who you are or what you look like, how you started off, or how and who you love, this is a place where you can write your own destiny.

June 26, 2015 was Yellow Rhythmic Seed, a day that invited everybody to get out of our “comfort zone” so we could grow to our greatest potential. In 2013, I dedicated the Yellow Seed Wavespell to authentic blossoming sharing the story of Edie Windsor, a New Yorker who won a lawsuit against the United States of America in recognition for her same-sex marriage to Thea Spyer. You can read my message here.

Yellow Human reminds us today that, as we were given the precious gift of Life, we were also given the gift of Free Will. Power of Freedom resides in being free to be who we truly are in spite of our differences and personal preferences.

Yellow Human is also about making conscious choices and becoming responsible for one’s actions. The main point is: “why do I do the things I do? And, am I using my free will wisely?”

Love is love, and love has no boundaries. Love is beyond gender, nationality, sexual orientation, governments and religions. When two human beings love each other and give their mutual consent to share their life’s path together, they should be free to do so on any level. Our choices may be different and we may not have the same viewpoints, but this is what free will is truly about, being oneself while accepting and respecting the fact that we are all different.

On the contrary, when someone uses his free will in a harmful and forceful way that hurts others, where there is no mutual consent and one part acts upon fear, that is certainly not based on love and reciprocal freedom. And there are boundaries. One’s freedom ends where the other’s freedom starts.

Symbolically, today is July 4, Independence day in the United States.

Happy day in the US and globally, today and always, as we continue celebrating our Freedom to love as human beings and on all levels!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
