Tribute to Maya Angelou (1928-2014)

Maya Angelou died at the age of 86 on May 28, 2014. From fear of speaking her truth as a child and a five-year-long silence after being raped at the age of eight, Angelou became a great author, poet, actress, singer and activist, sharing her voice and wisdom with the world.

Since her first book ‘I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings’ published in 1969, and followed by dozens of other autobiography, essays and poetry books, Angelou was a mentor to many including Oprah Winfrey. Her poems and quotes are widely known, as her Hallmark collection greeting cards and inspirational items.

Looking into Maya Angelou’s Oracle of Birth (born on April 4, 1928), she was White World Bridger, power of surrendering and forgiveness. She was born on the fifth day of the White Wind Wavespell, a period of 13 days to speak our truth, which starts today. The fifth day within a Wavespell is always called Overtone, which is the tone of Empowerment. And this is what this vibrant woman, Maya Angelou, did. Not only she empowered herself with the way she chose to live her life, but she also helped others through her messages and example to empowering themselves as well!

Please check this short video where you can listen to her beautiful voice and very powerful message:

Mercury Retrograde – June 7 to July 2, 2014

In modern society, where things are measured by productivity and efficiency, there is a tendency to associate Mercury retrograde with “something bad”.

As planet of communication, Mercury relates to our thinking process, mental abilities and how we communicate with others. Mercury retrograde is known for possible delays, overall misunderstandings and technology hitches. Some even recommend not signing formal contracts, initiating new business and traveling in those days.

In mythology, Mercury is known as the messenger of the gods. When it is retrograde, it has a message to give us. So, instead of running around, we are invited to slow down and listen.

Everything in the universe has a rhythm, everything dances

Enjoy your dance!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
