White Wind Wavespell of Communication

by Mariela Maya

Hello everyone!

Hope you are enjoying the White Wind Wavespell, which started on July 29. White Wind (Ik) is about honest communication, inspiration, integration, inner dialogue and movement. It invites us to sing our song and share our message with the world. Speaking my truth, I was not able to write my normal Wavespell message this time as Ik has been keeping me very busy and inspired as I am finalizing a ***BIG SURPRISE*** I will be announcing very soon! Please stay tuned : -)

In the meantime, I want to share with you the importance of the month of August and invite you to a couple of UPCOMING EVENTS (click on the event images below and scroll down the pdf documents for details):

August Month of Pachamama
Honoring our Beloved Mother Earth

For thousands of years, Native people around the world lived in physical and spiritual communion with Mother Earth and Nature’s elements, in a relationship based on respect and love for the planet and all living beings. Nature’s cycles were revered and humans lived in harmony with the rest of creation.

Although this connection has been neglected by modern society, especially since the days of industrialization, there are still communities and individuals globally that keep traditions alive as a way to express gratitude and love for Mother Earth, thanking her for nurturing and giving us all we need to subsist.

From Quechua and Aymara languages, Pachamama can be understood as Mother Earth and it is a focal point in the Andean cosmovision. Through rituals and celebrations, many indigenous communities in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and the North of Argentina pay tribute to the Earth on August every year, known as the “Month of the Pachamama”. Let’s unite our hearts with those loving ceremonies and give thanks to Mother Earth, this month and every single day of our existence!

(I wrote these words in August of last year and, when looking for it online, I just realized it was the Wavespell I dedicated to my dear friend Don Squibb’s passing, it’s amazing how time flies! You can read my tribute to him in the second half of the message here).

DREAMCATCHER WORKSHOP
CYPRESS, TEXAS

FULL MOON DRUM CIRCLE
COPPERFIELD, TEXAS

Full Moon Mandala: Thank you very much to all of you that sent your names from different States and countries, joining over 50 people that participated in person. The global Mandala was placed under the empowering Powwow drum during the ceremony, bringing us all together in one Heartbeat around to world. This Mandala is going to be with us every month in each Full Moon Drum Circle ceremony.

Invitation for the ones that cannot join us in person: we meet monthly to play our drums in a sacred circle connecting with the pulse of Life and our own heartbeats as we hold our intentions in gratitude and love. While the gatherings will be physically held in Houston and surroundings, we extend this invitation to all of you globally. Let us know if you want your name to be included in the mandala and we will be happy to do so.

Happy Song!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
