The Butterfly Circus
Beautiful and Inspirational Movie

Celebrating the end of 2014, we decided to watch the movie The Butterfly Circus (2009), a 20-minute short film that features a great story about love, respect, acceptance, authenticity, companionship, perseverance and self-esteem. With beautiful sceneries and music, moments of silence and great lessons, this inspirational movie is full of profound messages for the soul!

The story is about a small circus during the Great Depression in the 1930’s that brought joy and hope to people’s hearts. Will (Nick Vujicic), a man without limbs, was the main attraction of a carnival sideshow where he was in constant distress and suffered from bullying. After a short encounter with Mendez (Eduardo Verástegui), the owner of The Butterfly Circus, Will joined them and embarked on a transformational journey where he learned about friendship, encouragement, support and mainly self-love. When he realized he could overcome what he considered as ‘obstacles’, Will changed the perception he had of himself, felt more confident and enjoyed celebrating his achievements with his new friends.

Will discovered that all the characters in this so special circus also had their own struggles in the past until they opened their hearts, connected with their true selves, experienced love and joy and shared it with others.

Among the so many meaningful messages, this movie is about the inner knowing that everything is possible when we believe in it, and the importance of surrounding ourselves with people that respect us for whom we are and help us to grow. And, as we change, we become an example and inspiration for others as well.

This film directed by Joshua Weigel is highly recommended. You can watch the entire movie by clicking on any photo or here and, if you want to support its independent filmmakers, you can also purchase it on Amazon.

We are magnificent!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
