Magical White Wizard Wavespell

by Mariela Maya

When I got back home after the Despacho ceremony on the first day of the previous Wavespell, I took the bag with bay leaves from the tree at Green Planet Sanctuary and emptied it on a large paper. Amazingly, the leaves fell in such a way that they created a heart shape! It was a beautiful gift from Nature and it truly felt magical! Magic are those moments of awe and wonder when we feel a deeper connection with all existence. In gratitude, I did a little ritual by decorating it with carnation flowers gifted by one of the participants in the ceremony. The red path on the left side represents the feminine (Pachamama, Mother Earth, the more sensible aspect of being) and the white path on the right represents the masculine (Apus, Spirits of the mountains, the more active aspect of doing). To be and to do, all in balance!

The White Wizard Wavespell is the second Wavespell of this cycle. From January 2 to 14, 2016, we are invited to bring the sacred into our daily activities and to create more magical moments in our lives!

In my last message, I wrote a brief introduction on how to embody a Wavespell. You can read it here if you haven’t seen it already. You will find in it a reference to the 20 glyphs or Solar Seals and their meaning. Today I will share with you about the 13 numbers or Lunar Tones that create a Wavespell.

Every 13 days a new Wavespell starts. The glyph that falls on the first day sets the purpose for the entire period. Since a Tzolkin cycle has 260 days, it means that there are 20 Wavespells of 13 days each.

Mayans wrote their numbers with dots and bars, a dot representing number 1 and a bar 5. It means that a Wavespell goes from one dot (1) to two bars and three dots (13).

As we embody a Wavespell, we see that each joint has a specific glyph combined with a number. The graph below shows what each number means:

Back to the invitation for this cycle, as you move each joint in circular movements, connect not only with the daily glyph but also with its number. In the current Wavespell that starts today, the purpose until January 14 is to do a little ritual every day that helps us to connect with the sacred. Embodying a Wavespell by moving it in our joints is a ritual in itself. In other words, a ritual refers to anything we do with conscious intent where simple activities become very special and meaningful!

As an example, January 3, 2016 is the second day of this Wavespell. Blue Eagle is the Power of Vision and Tone 2, called Lunar Tone, is the one that presents the challenge. As you move your right knee, connect with the energy of Blue Lunar Eagle by reflecting in which ways you feel that you are struggling to see the big picture. As you continue moving it, visualize as if detaching from what is blocking you at the moment so you can “fly higher” and recover your freedom.

In the previous Wavespell and in this one I am just explaining how it works. In the next ones, I will start putting it all into practice so you can use it daily and make it personal to your own life experiences.

Reading the Harmonic Module

The matrix below or Harmonic Module contains the 260 days with Gregorian dates for the current cycle. Each cell or day, called Kin, shows the combination of the Solar Seal (glyph) and the Lunar Tone (number). The current Wavespell of the White Wizard is highlighted for your reference where you can see Kins 14 to 26 from January 2 to 14, 2016. You can click on the image or here to see it in a larger size with the glyphs meaning on the left side.

To read the Harmonic Module, start in the top left corner with Kin 1 (December 20, 2015) and go down the column to Kin 20 (January 8, 2016). Continue in the second column with Kin 21 (January 9) and go to the bottom to Kin 40 (January 28). Going up and down the columns until the end, you see that Kin 260 closes this cycle on September 5, 2016 (bottom right corner). As you get in tune with the cycle, remember to check the Daily Tzolkin each morning to read the message of the day (on the right side under the oracle) and meditate, reflect, open up to insights and act as you get inspired.

Happy and magical Wavespell!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
