Loving White Dog Wavespell

by Mariela Maya

The Tzolkin, Sacred Mayan Calendar, is a cycle of 260 days composed of 20 glyphs by 13 numbers. Each day combines a glyph and a number giving to it a specific meaning as an invitation to connect with certain aspects of our being. Every 13 days, there is a shift of energy and the glyph that falls on the first day sets the purpose for the following almost two weeks. In the modern application of the Tzolkin, the 13-day period is called a Wavespell, and there are 20 Wavespells in a cycle. If all this is new to you, the best approach is by playing with it instead of trying to understand technical concepts. You will see how magically and synchronically everything unfolds!

The White Dog Wavespell is the 14th Wavespell out of twenty in the current cycle based on the modern count. From June 7-19, 2016, we are invited to open our hearts and experience Love in its highest vibration! Let’s see what each of the Wavespell’s day represents in this current cycle by combining the Tzolkin’s 20 glyphs with one of the 13 numbers.

Tuesday, June 7, White Magnetic Dog
Purpose: the first day of any Wavespell sets the purpose for the specific period of 13 days. During the Wavespell of the White Dog, the purpose is to be centered in our hearts and relate to others authentically with Love and compassion. Are you experiencing a heart-centered life as you are loyal to others, and to your own needs?

Wednesday, June 8, Blue Lunar Monkey
Challenge: the second day of any Wavespell is the one that shows us the extremes. While Love is what bonds us all, if we are hurt as human beings it is sometimes difficult to feel unconditional love for others, and mainly to experience self-love. What is blocking you from enjoying your relationships?

Thursday, June 9, Yellow Electric Human
Bonding: the third day of any Wavespell is the one that “connects the dots”. As we experience love for oneself and all creation, it becomes easier to be of service and use our free will to make wiser choices with healthier behaviors rather than hurting others. In which ways are you contributing to humanity?

Friday, June 10, Red Self-Exiting Skywalker
Shaping: the fourth day of any Wavespell is the one that gives shape and form. As we start molding our lives with love and heartfelt gratitude, our experiences and adventures are filled with bliss and grace. Are you exploring new and more loving ways of being in the world?

Saturday, June 11, White Overtone Wizard
Empowering: the fifth day of any Wavespell is the one that empowers. When we accept and respect others -and ourselves- the way we really are, it is easier to feel self-confident and keep our self-esteem high. Do you let others know you for who you truly are?

Sunday, June 12, Blue Rhythmic Eagle
Balancing: the sixth day of any Wavespell is the one that brings balance. As we experience a deeper sense of love and gratitude in our hearts, we feel balanced and perceive life from a more expanded perspective. Are your current relationships healthy and authentic, including the one you have with your own self?

Monday, June 13, Yellow Resonant Warrior
Aligning: the seventh day of any Wavespell is the one that helps us to become centered. Becoming a Warrior of Light requires courage and determination to move forward towards our goals. Can you center yourself to be guided in the right direction based on love instead of rushing out of fear?

Tuesday, June 14, Red Galactic Earth
Integrating: the eighth day of any Wavespell is the one for integration. When we know we are also Nature and feel one with the Web of Life, our outer and inner experiences are integrated and we take care of our beloved Mother Earth and all of its living beings. Do you feel your heart beating with the pulse of Life?

Wednesday, June 15, White Solar Mirror
Pulsing: the ninth day of any Wavespell is the one that gives the last push prior to manifestation. The “Mirror of Life” (our relationships and circumstances) shows us in which ways we are not experiencing love so we can cut with what no longer serves, within and without. Can you put boundaries when needed?

Thursday, June 16, Blue Planetary Storm
Manifesting: the tenth day of any Wavespell is the one that manifests. Love transforms and Love heals! Love brings us together. Are you allowing transformation to occur on a heart level so you can experience love in more profound ways as you co-participate in creating a better world for all?

Friday, June 17, Yellow Spectral Sun
Releasing: the eleventh day of any Wavespell is the one that liberates. When we constantly “beat ourselves up” for what we do or we don’t do, it becomes difficult to experience inner warmth and shine in our own Light. To whom are you giving your power and authority away?

Saturday, June 18, Red Crystal Dragon
Sharing: the twelfth day of any Wavespell is the one for cooperation. When we give, and we also receive, we allow energy to circulate on all directions so that our relationships get nurtured both ways. Are you cultivating sacred reciprocity so everybody can grow?

Sunday, June 19, White Cosmic Wind
Transcending: the thirteenth day of any Wavespell is the one that gives closure. And finally, as we live from our true and authentic self and we develop soul-connection relationships with one another, we feel free to speak our truth with honesty and just be who we truly are!

Connecting with indigenous wisdom and flowing in our own rhythms, look forward to sharing with you a special afternoon at Body, Mind & Soul on Saturday, June 18, where you will learn how to make your own dreamcatcher, a beautiful and meaningful Native American sacred object, as you consciously infuse it with your intention. For additional information and to sign up, click on the dreamcatcher.

For the first time after all these years of hosting ceremonies at Green Planet Sanctuary, we are meeting for this Solstice in a new place located in Cypress, TX. GPS was sold last month and Cathy is now working on her Dream Glamping Retreat in Round Top, which we will be able to enjoy once it’s ready.

This year, Summer Solstice in the North Hemisphere falls on Monday, June 20. Since it is a day after Father’s Day, we will celebrate it on the following Saturday. Bringing together traditions from the North and the South, it will be a special gathering with a shorter Despacho Andean ritual combined with a Native American drumming and chanting sacred circle. The invitation with details for the will be sent separately.

Much Love to all!

In Lak’esh means “I am another yourself!”, a Mayan greeting that recognizes the Divine in each living Being. It’s a message of Unity that reminds us that, when we give, we are also receiving. In this way, the Mayan honored and respected each other, reinforcing the belief that we are all interconnected: what we do to others and to our environment will also affect ourselves in the end…

Munay means both ‘Love’ and ‘Beauty’ in Quechua, the language of the Incas. Munay, translated as ‘To love’, is one of the three principles of the Andean way.
